Geometry has always inspired my imagination. When I say "geometry", I mean geometry objects and constructions - not meticulous "two column" proofs citing axioms and theorems. Come prepared to cut and tape paper and, in the process, construct some familiar and some not so familiar objects. This opens the door to a very rich set of ideas, conjectures, and open questions. Beyond the mathematical aspects of these constructions, there are connections to the sciences, architecture, engineering, sewing, etc. This will be loosely based on a class I attended, by the same name, taught by Bill Thurston.
Snacks will be provided.
