Welcome to the 1999 DOE Computer Graphics Forum!
May 2nd - 5th, 1999 at Lake Tahoe, CA
The 24th annual DOE Computer Graphics Forum will be held this
year at the Granlibakken Resort & Conference Center in Lake Tahoe,
California between May 2nd and May 5th. The DOE CGF continues in the tradition
of its predecessors by providing a forum for DOE Computer Graphics researchers
to get together, exchange ideas and share information in a casual atmosphere.
Site Information
The site of this year's forum will be the beautiful Granlibakken Resort
& Conference Center located in the Lake Tahoe Basin. Lake Tahoe is
the third deepest lake in North America and the tenth deepest in the world.
The average depth of Lake Tahoe is 1000 feet, with the deepest portion
of the lake an astounding 1,645 feet in depth. It measures 22 miles long
and 12 miles wide, with a surface area covering 191 square miles and 72 miles
of shoreline. Formed by faulting, the lake is world-renowned for its deep
alpine blue color and clarity of water. At an elevation of 6225 feet above
sea level, Lake Tahoe is also the highest lake of its size in the United
States. Situated on the California/Nevada stateline, there is always
something to do at Lake Tahoe whether it be skiing, boating, hiking,
golfing or fishing. Right across the stateline, you can try your luck at
one of the many casinos on the lakeshore.
