Description:

Introduction to scientific work. Participants will learn and experience the entire process of creating a scientific paper, including literature search, citing of related work and presenting of the own work. The aim is to learn how to prepare a paper for submission to an international conference or workshop. The actual presentation will be done with emphasis on modern prestentation methods. The main aspects are:

Writing of a scientific paper
Correct usage of citations (incl. related work)
Getting to know the basics of how to prepare a publication for an international conference
Presentation of the paper
Reviewprocess in an international conference

The paper will be written in English. Communication with the lecturers is either in German or English. The final presentations by students will be held in English. Students are supposed to organise themselves into small groups with a group size of 2 to 3. A maximum of 8 groups is possible (max. 20 people).
