The CMS Group at Caltech is actively involved in several Grid-related proje

cts: the DoE-funded Particle Physics Data Grid (PPDG), the NSF-funded Grid Physi

cs Network (GriPhyN), the NSF-funded Accessing Large Data archives in Astronomy

and Particle physics (ALDAP) and the EU-funded DataGrid. In this paper we presen

t some significant results from work that includes the development of the Grid D

ata Management Pilot (GDMP) software, a Java Analysis (JAS) based remote analysi

s service for CMS data, job submission schemes for large scale distributed simul

ation and reconstruction runs for CMS, the modelling of job submission schemes u

sing the MONARC toolkit, a novel execution service for distributed processors, a

nd the use of our prototype Tier2 center in support of some of these application

s.
